Ponemon, Second Annual Cost of Cyber Crime Study, 2011

To use xyberShield, simply install a single script on your website, and you’re fully protected. The process usually takes less than an hour. A SaaS solution that doesn’t use a DNS redirect or a proxy, xyberShield is available for .NET, .PHP, and Java environments.

An IT professional who’s familiar with your website will need administrator or root access to the web server to install the xyberShield script, which is only 10KB – 20KB in size, depending on the application environment. The process is simple:

  1. Register the domain and download the installer for your environment.

  2. Run the xsObserver installer from the root location of your application, and you’re up and running.

  3. For PHP applications only:  add the xyberShield script to the main pages or templates for your application.

The xyberShield script needs to be placed only at the root level of the website hosting a particular application – it does not need to be placed on every page or URL. Once the script is installed, it automatically discovers the web application(s) and all subsidiary pages on the domain, and establishes a connection with the xyberShield Global Security Platform.

Configuration Options

You can then use the product console to activate any of the xyberFrame threat protection modules. Once activated, each xyberFrame provides immediate protection without any need for tuning or configuration. xyberShield observes each user session on your website, learning from your traffic and adapting each active xyberFrame to optimize the protection for your website – automatically and continually. Each xyberFrame can also be manually configured to meet any special security or operational requirements.
